Art Safari

Marc participated in Art Safari 2021 in Bucharest, one of Romania’s biggest art events, held from September 16–26 at Palatul Dacia – ARCUB (Hanul Gabroveni). His artwork was selected as the official cover image and invitation for the event, making it a central visual for the entire exhibition.

The post reflects on Marc’s experience seeing his work become a symbol of the event and the surreal feeling of people engaging with it publicly. He describes the vibrant, diverse atmosphere of Art Safari—ranging from classic Romanian art to bold contemporary works, night tours, kids' zones, and curated pavilions featuring renowned and emerging artists.

Marc’s piece was part of the “Superheroes/Antiheroes” contemporary art section, aligning perfectly with the event’s exploration of modern identity and culture. He felt honored to be part of a space that united heritage and innovation, and left inspired by the community and artistic energy.

In the end, Marc describes the event as a milestone in his artistic journey, full of meaning, connection, and visibility—a moment where art truly "let itself be seen."

LIFE IS GUCCI

In summer 2018, artist Marc hosted his solo exhibition "Life is Gucci" at Rotenberg-Uzunov Gallery in Bucharest. The show ran from July 17 to August 4 and featured bold pop-art works blending The Simpsonsluxury fashion (like Gucci, Hermès, Hublot), and social commentary on consumerism and identity.

The title piece, also called Life is Gucci, showed Bart and Milhouse in streetwear, representing a playful but critical view of how modern culture idolizes brands. Marc’s work explored the line between satire and celebration, using humor and nostalgia to reflect on fame, clout, and branding.

With a vibrant atmosphere and strong public response, the exhibition marked a milestone in Marc’s journey—bringing together street culture and fine art in a bold, ironic, and visually striking way.

Artmark

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of seeing more than six of my artworks featured in auctions hosted by Artmark, one of the most prestigious art auction houses in Romania. Known for curating both historical and contemporary pieces, Artmark has become a landmark for serious collectors and modern creatives alike—and being part of that landscape is a milestone I deeply value.

Each painting that entered the auction carried with it a story: bold characters, cultural mashups, and the ironic pulse of modern life that defines my work. Seeing them framed under the lights of an Artmark preview room—then sold to collectors who connected with their message—was both surreal and affirming.

Artmark’s platform elevated my work beyond the gallery and into the homes of private collectors, placing it alongside Romania’s visual legacy. To be in such company is not just a highlight of my career—it’s a reminder of how far a canvas can travel when it speaks to its time.
